Eduardo Barroetabeña, a dedicated drums teacher who brings his rich musical experience and
a profound love for teaching to our school. Eduardo's musical journey has been marked by
diverse collaborations and a deep passion for percussion, making him a valuable addition to our
educational team.
Eduardo's background in classical percussion and his versatility as a musician have allowed him
to share the stage with accomplished artists like Wynton Marsalis, David Sanchez, Stefon Harris,
and Christian Scott, among others. His ability to connect with artists from various genres is a
testament to his musical understanding and adaptability.
In November 2013, Eduardo made the decision to move to Beijing, where he has been sharing
his knowledge and passion for drumming with students at several esteemed institutions,
including Midi School of Music, Dulwich College Beijing, Harrow School Beijing, Western
Academy of Beijing (WAB), Beijing City International School (BCIS), The British School of Beijing
(BSB), and Nine Beats. Eduardo's commitment to education and nurturing young talents is
commendable and a true asset to our school.
Eduardo's contributions to the music scene in China are noteworthy. He has not only taught
and collaborated with local musicians but has also led his own ensembles, such as "TroVanda"
(Latin), BrazilEO quartet, and "Prototype" (Jazz), which have earned recognition and enriched
the musical landscape in Beijing.Outside of the classroom and stage, Eduardo has eagerly participated in percussion
masterclasses and workshops across South East Asia, continuously expanding his teaching skills
and staying at the forefront of music education.
With performance experiences ranging from the streets of Cuba to international jazz and music
festivals, Eduardo Barroetabeña's dedication to both teaching and performing is a true
testament to his lifelong commitment to music.
